Barry Farnan

Irish by birth, blood and love

Barry is a qualified chef with over 30 years of experience, having worked in some top class establishments, from small family run cafés to Michelin Star Restaurants, in North America, South East Asia, Europe and now sunny South Africa.  Food and cooking have been his passion from a very young age, when his granny taught him to cook. He really enjoys teaching and in particular teaching healthy easy cooking and lifestyle choices.

He has studied Herbal Medicine, and holds a degree in the European Herbal Tradition, which included Iridology as a diagnostic tool.

Presently he does a lot of work for companies like Onestopwellness and Headspace, who focus on corporate wellness days. He also has his own private therapy room, and wellness company.

Barry's experience includes working in restaurants on the east coast of America, New York City and Hampton Beach;  in Madrid; in Dublin, as head chef and executive chef while he built a private consultation practice in Iridology and Herbal Medicine; in South East Asia, as head chef and executive chef.  Now, in South Africa, he works as a food technologist, research and development chef, Iridologist, nutritional advisor, energy healer, and life coach.

He has extensively studied massage therapies and energy healing therapies, including reflexology, Meridian energy therapy and Metaphysics, to name a few.

He is a keen fitness enthusiast, and a nationwide member of Virgin Active.

 

Barry holds a BSc in Computer Applications DCU (Dublin City University); Chef certificates 190/1 & 190/2; Cathal Brugah Street, Dublin; a Masters Iridology from Irish School of Natural Healing;

Degree in Master Herbalism; and Qualification in dietary and nutritional certifications.
